What is Career Advising?Career Advising is a service for individuals who are clear about the career path they want to pursue, and are seeking support to gain employment. Common areas of focus include practical tools and strategies for navigating your career effectively, including job search strategy, personal brand work, networking, interview skills, etc. Career Advising involves one-on-one sessions with a Career Advisor (not a Psychologist), and can sometimes involve your Advisor preparing personal branding documents (resume, LinkedIn profiles, cover letters, etc.) outside of sessions. Clients typically book from 1 to 6 sessions depending on their advising needs.

Are sessions covered under extended health care plans? Our Career Counselling and Career Coaching services are Psychotherapy, which is typically covered (or partly covered) by extended health care plans/benefits. To confirm if you have coverage and to determine the amount of coverage you have, please contact your extended health plan provider directly. You can inquire about your coverage for “Registered Psychologist,” “Psychotherapist,” “Counselling Therapist,” “Clinical Counsellor,” “Psychotherapy,” or “Counselling.” While these services are often reimbursed by extended health plans, we do not directly bill health plan providers. Our Career Advisors are experienced practitioners but are not Registered Psychologists or Psychotherapists, and therefore services are not covered under extended health care plans. If your employer offers a lifestyle spending allowance or similar, you may be able to have services covered.
